Features of a Rise Dedicated Server
Hardware
Disk Customization
When you order your dedicated server, you can customize its storage capacity with a wide range of disks.
Intel Software Guard Extensions (SGX)
Intel Software Guard Extensions (SGX) is available with Intel Xeon E processors. This technology delivers advanced hardware and RAM security encryption features, to isolate parts of code and data that are specific to each application. You can enable the feature via the OVHcloud Control Panel.
AMD Secure Encrypted Virtualization (SEV)
Integrated with AMD EPYC processors, SEV helps protect your data privacy and integrity by encrypting each virtual machine with one of the 509 unique encryption keys known only to the processor. SEV requires activation in the guest OS and hypervisor.
AMD Secure Memory Encryption (SME)
Integrated with AMD EPYC processors, EMS uses a single key to encrypt system memory. This key is generated by the AMD Secure Processor at startup. EMS must be enabled in the system BIOS or operating system. When enabled in the BIOS, memory encryption is transparent and can be run with any operating system.
Managed Storage Solutions
With file storage solutions fully managed by OVHcloud, get centralized, high-performance storage and backup spaces for your data.
Veeam Enterprise Plus
Deploy your Veeam Backup & Replication platform, and use Enterprise Plus licenses from OVHcloud to ensure backup, recovery, and replication for multiple strategic workloads — including VMware, Nutanix, Linux, and Windows physical servers, or NAS storage.

1 Gbps public bandwidth guaranteed
Your server has a default minimum bandwidth. You can also increase your bandwidth.
Additional public bandwidth up to 2 Gbps
Our dedicated servers have a default public bandwidth. Depending on your project’s resource requirements, you can choose an additional guaranteed bandwidth option. This ensures constant throughput for your incoming and outgoing traffic.
vRack private network – 1 Gbps – guaranteed and unlimited(2)
Our Rise servers include our vRack private network, so you can create a cluster or integrate your server into an existing infrastructure. This network is isolated from the internet and is offered at no additional cost.
Up to 2 Gbps of additional private bandwidth
Our dedicated servers come with access to our private physical network, the vRack. By selecting an additional bandwidth option, you increase the data transfer rate between your servers across all our data centers. The vRack private network is compatible with other OVHcloud solutions, such as dedicated servers, Private Cloud, and Public Cloud.
OVHcloud Link Aggregation
This feature maximizes the availability of your dedicated servers. You can enable it on the OVHcloud Control Panel to group your public and private network links. This helps ensure service continuity, and a very high-bandwidth private network for your most critical applications and distributed systems.
Anti-DDoS Protection
To maximize the security of your infrastructure, our anti-DDoS system is included with all OVHcloud dedicated servers.
Game DDoS Protection
Our anti-DDoS service is available on Game servers from the Eco range. This DDoS protection, specially designed for video games and e-sports, is essential for game hosting platforms to counter the industry’s frequent and massive DDoS attacks.
OVHcloud Connect
With OVHcloud Connect, you can link your network to your infrastructure in our data centers. This high-speed private link is completely isolated from the public network and perfectly secure.
IP
IPv4 and IPv6 Addresses
Each server has a public IPv4 address and an IPv6 address range.
Additional IP
Additional IPv4 addresses can be transferred between OVHcloud servers, providing failover capabilities. These IP addresses can also be geolocated in 14 countries.
IPMI over IP
The Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) console can be accessed via the OVHcloud Control Panel or API, and provides you with a direct connection to your dedicated server. Even if your server becomes unavailable, you can keep control of your machine through its public IP address.
Bring Your Own IP
With the IP address-bringing service (BYOIP) provided by OVHcloud, you can bring your own public IPv4 address ranges and use them as additional IP blocks.
It is a simple way to ensure that your company’s public connectivity is maintained. This is especially the case when you migrate some or all of your services to the cloud.

Your questions answered
How do I choose a dedicated server?
The right dedicated server for you depends mainly on your specific needs and the way you want to use it. However, whichever one you choose, it’s important to consider the key features of the server, such as memory (RAM), storage capacity, and bandwidth. We also recognize that budget is an important factor to consider. That’s why we have created several Eco dedicated server ranges, namely Kimsufi, So you Start, and Rise, so that each customer can find the machine that best suits their needs and budget.
Whatever the model or range, our Eco line of dedicated servers offers reliability and optimal performance to help you grow your business while respecting your budget constraints.
How does a dedicated server work?
A dedicated server is a type of server that is dedicated exclusively to one person or organization and is hosted on the internet to host something like a website or application. Unlike shared servers, where resources are shared between multiple people or entities, a dedicated server offers optimal performance and full control over its resources.
Dedicated servers do not use a virtualization layer to distribute resources, like virtual servers do, meaning all the resources can be allocated to the user. What's more, the users have full control over their machine, from its security to its configuration.
A dedicated server is made up of several elements, such as the random access memory (RAM), processor, and storage space. A business or organization would typically opt for a dedicated server when they need higher performance than a shared server or want complete control over their machine.
What are the advantages of a dedicated server?
Fully dedicated resources for your project
The most significant advantage of a dedicated server is the power it offers in terms of computing, data processing, and storage capacity. Unlike a shared hosting or cloud solution, all your server’s resources are allocated to you. Because there is no virtualization layer, your applications are fully benefiting from the dedicated resources.
Choice of distribution
To get started using your dedicated server, you need to install an OS. OVHcloud offers a range of operating systems that are available to install automatically, and they all operate on an optimized platform. This includes Windows Server, Linux, and UNIX operating systems, as well as Plesk and cPanel control panels, not to mention SQL Server for databases. Your server adapts to your needs.
Root access to control your server
The advantage of a dedicated server is that you are free to configure it as you wish. In addition to choosing your operating system, you have root access to your machine. Manage, configure, and secure your server using the command line or through a management interface, without technical constraints. You can take advantage of our expertise and our data centers while remaining in control of your server!
What do the setup fees include?
The setup fees cover the cost of assembling and connecting your server in our data centers. These upfront fees are only billed once when the service is set up. This means they are not linked to your commitment period.
The setup fees for your dedicated server are free for any commitment period of 12 months or longer.
When can I order the add-on options offered?
The add-on options are available at the server configuration step. You can also order and enable them directly via the OVHcloud Control Panel after your service has been delivered.
How do I contact technical support?
You can contact technical support by chat or by raising a ticket for Rise servers.
For more information, visit our customer support page.
What are the advantages of the vRack private network?
OVHcloud offers a virtual private network (vRack) which has several advantages for organizations and companies.
- Network isolation: the vRack isolates network traffic from your dedicated servers, VPS, or cloud instances, greatly enhancing the security of your infrastructures. This means you can connect your servers to a dedicated private network that is out of range of public internet traffic.
- Business Continuity: by using vRack, you can configure redundant connections between your servers and your OVHcloud data centers to better ensure business continuity and high availability.
- Flexibility: the vRack enables servers to be connected in different data centers and even in different countries, providing the flexibility to configure distributed, redundant infrastructures.
- Manageability: the vRack is compatible with all major network protocols, including VLAN, VXLAN, and NVGRE, allowing for easy and efficient management of your private network.
- Lower costs: by using vRack, you can reduce connectivity costs between your servers and data centers, saving you money on your network budget.
