Operating Systems and Distributions
You can install several operating systems and distributions (OS) automatically via the OVHcloud Control Panel.
Administration Interfaces

Your server has a default minimum bandwidth. Incoming and outgoing traffic is unlimited and free (excluding our data centers located in the Asia-Pacific region). You can also increase your bandwidth.
vRack private network
Your server is delivered with our private physical network — the vRack. This means you can create your own cluster, or include your server in an existing infrastructure. It is completely isolated from the internet and delivered at no extra cost.
OVHcloud Link Aggregation
This feature maximizes the availability of your dedicated servers. You can enable it on the OVHcloud Control Panel to group your public and private network links. This helps ensure service continuity, and a very high-bandwidth private network for your most critical applications and distributed systems.
Anti-DDoS Protection
To maximize the security of your infrastructure, our anti-DDoS system is included with all OVHcloud dedicated servers.
Game DDoS Protection
Our anti-DDoS service is available on Game servers from the Eco range. This DDoS protection, specially designed for video games and e-sports, is essential for game hosting platforms to counter the industry’s frequent and massive DDoS attacks.

Why does the OVHcloud Eco range exist?
To remain competitive, we renew our range of next-generation dedicated servers approximately every 18 months. Many of our customers often change machines after this period.
The lifespan of a server is around 7 to 10 years. In keeping with our approach to sustainable development, we have chosen to keep these servers on sale at reduced prices – meaning they get to live a second life with the Eco range.
Why are there three Eco ranges?
We offer servers from several generations, 18 months, 3 years, and 6 years old. The three Eco ranges are used to differentiate them by their generation. While all three are now combined in the same range, we specify the sub-range of the machine.
The servers that are new to the Eco catalog will appear in the Rise range. The next time you renew your VPS, the same server will appear in So you Start, then Kimsufi.
What level of guarantee does the Eco range offer?
Our Eco dedicated servers benefit from the same infrastructures, procedures, and guarantees as OVHcloud’s Bare Metal servers (Advance, Game, Storage, Scale, and High Grade):
- Access to OVHcloud technical support
- 24/7 server monitoring, and automatically triggered interventions to replace parts in the event of a hardware failure
Why choose an OVHcloud Eco server?
Eco servers offer good performance at competitive prices. The machines are suitable for a variety of uses, such as hosting business applications, websites, pre-production environments, or even gaming. Our servers are very popular with startups, small and medium-sized businesses, or for complementing an infrastructure. They can be used as test servers or as backups.
What happens in the event of a hardware failure?
The OVHcloud team constantly monitors the server cluster. In the event of failure, our experts receive an alert and immediately replace the affected component(s). Note that the failure rate remains very low in the Eco range, averaging only 0.3% in 2023.
